As Ghost, Raekwon and Meth are on the verge of releasing their awaited album Wu-massacre (March 30th), I felt it was time to make a tribute to one of the groups that really got me in to rap (Gangstarr being the other) - Wu-tang Clan. The three mentioned members has been quite active lately, and besides releasing a few small movietrailers for the oncoming album, both Rae and Ghostface each dropped an album last year. Here is Our Dreams from Wu-massacre.
I guess few of you has missed Raekwons Only built for cuban linx pt. 2, but if you did it was definently one of 2009's best albums.
Ghostface's Ghostdini: The Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City wasn't quite as good (instead, check out 2006's Fishscale and More Fish, not to say classic Ironman from 1996), but it still contained bangers like Do Over.
Even though Rza isn't what he used to be, in the middle of the 90's he definentely was one of the best producers (if not the best) in the game, and I still rank C.R.E.A.M as one of the five best rap songs ever made. Here's a couple of other classics.
From a bit forgotten and quite good Iron Flag (2001).
Wicked beat that reminds me of Zelda for Super NES.
I'm ending this monster post with Wu's first single.
Peace!
